Mark Bravo, Mark's claim to fame is that he has been a member of the Oklahoma City Running Club-now the LANDRUNNERS-for decades, an accomplishment he's very proud of! Mark began his coaching career about 15 years ago, and makes special note that his approach is much more about 'mindset' than regimen...first and foremost, how to become an stay a runner for a lifetime, which means navigating the inevitable "peaks and valleys!" No matter the athlete's ability, he aims to help you "raise your game", first and foremost with an approach of gratitude and loving the sport! His book MOMENTUM, which he has here tonight, shares excerpts from legendary runners from the international stage, to individuals many of you may know. It's main subject matter takes a surprising twist though that you might not expect! Now with OK RUNNER OKC, and head of Business Development, Mark feels he's "in his element", something he is most grateful for!
Craig Thompson, After studying… and playing… at Western State in Gunnison, Colorado , and being bitten by the exercise science bug, continuing studies at the University Kansas and University of Oklahoma combined with 3 years working at The Runner in OKC led to a family venture into the run specialty business in 1995.
Beyond fitting footwear, I spent 10 years giving the footwear and injury prevention briefings at military bases across the state. I am guest lecturer on footwear at Norman Regional Hospital, the Oklahoma Association of Physical Therapists, the University of Oklahoma, as well as schools and businesses across the state.
20 years growing with the running industry and understanding its specific nature in providing an outlet to fit and educate the community in running footwear, a need for constant continuing education has led to Certifications in Professional Shoe Fitting and Pedorthics (the science and practice of evaluating, fabricating and delivery of footwear and foot orthoses). As a C Ped specializing in sports performance orthotics studying under and now practicing with the preeminent Sports Pedorthist in the country Randall Barna in Bend, Oregon, providing a next level experience in run specialty retail has distinguished OK Runner from any other industry wide.
The long and short of it: 25 years of 10 hour days, 5 to 6 days a week of assessing gait, balancing psychology with kinesiology in properly fitting customers with the very best options in footwear, as well as specializing in making the best sports orthotics in the marketplace today, has prepared me to advise and provide for the needs of any athlete, fit or not so fit, young, old, injured, healthy, walking, running, working, yada, yada
